A PUBLIC inquiry to determine the fate of an £80m industrial estate has been postponed.

Landform Development wants to build on 101 acres of restored gravel extraction and landfill area south of the Toyota factory at Burnaston, close to the A38/A50 interchange.

The project could generate 1,500 jobs and international distribution firm TNT Post has already expressed an interest in moving on to the site, which has been named Burnaston Cross.

South Derbyshire District Council failed to make a decision on the development within an allotted time, invoking a public inquiry, which started in April. The Government inspector is thought to be unwell.

The Government inspector is thought to be unwell
- but is in no danger of getting a stage warning. :sad:
