I am thinking of selling all my shares. I have the free shares that will be sold tax free as well as some that i bought weekly via my wages that will be taxable. I get that I be taxed 20% on these shares , but what about National Insurance. Will it be paid on the whole amount or is it capped.
Also does the money get paid via your wages or directly into your banks.#
Thanks in advance.

Re: National Insurance on shares
Free shares money come straight to bank account and other you bought paid in your payslip so if I am not wrong you have to pay both tax and national insurance

Re: National Insurance on shares
The free shares from 2013, 2014 & 2015 are all free from tax & NIC's and will be paid into your bank account. The ones from 2016 & the P&M shares you've bought will still have tax and NIC's deducted and will be paid via payroll.
Income tax will be payable at 20% unless you're total income is more than £50k, in which case anything over that amount will be at 40%.
NIC's are paid at 12% on any income up to £962 per week and then it goes down to 2%.
