It will be interesting to see how many leave in October. I'm also of a mind to sell mine and go, but who knows, October might be an easy month and I might want to stay on a bit longer :crazy:

I know of one who is definitely leaving in October and the reason he has waited is so he doesn't lose the shares.

Word of Warning.

Leaving in October only protects the 1st tranche of shares - the 3 other tranches will be forfeited

Which is over 200 shares probably as much as 300 after this issue or around £1500.

SIP 2016 UPDATE

https://www.myroyalmail.com/news/2016/0 ... ree-shares" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In October, eligible employees will be given a Share Incentive Plan (SIP) 2016 allocation of Free Shares.

The SIP 2016 Free Shares Offer is made up of two parts: 1% of company shares, and the shares bought with the final dividend 2015-16.

1% of company shares

In October 2015, the Government sold its remaining stake in Royal Mail. It also set aside 1% of shares in Royal Mail (10 million shares) for eligible employees, to be awarded in 2016. The Government transferred these shares to the SIP Trust in March 2016.

Shares bought with the final dividend 2015-2016

As the SIP 2016 Free Shares had not been given to eligible employees by the time the final dividend 2015-16 was paid (on 29 July 2016), the SIP Trustee will use the dividend due on these shares to buy more shares (likely to be around 300,000 shares).

Keep an eye out for your SIP 2016 Free Shares Offer home mailing, landing at the start of September.

Presumably, but it'll only be 2 or 3 extra each anyway.

Yes - but the question answered here was about the extra shares bought with the dividend, that works out at about 2 or 3 each.

I find I work a lot harder, and I'm a lot more conscientious, now that I'm a Share Holder! :wink:

It does surprise me though...The amount of fellow shareholders who continue to deliver Un-Franked (FREE) Stamps, Redirect Customers Mail to new Addresses without a Redirection Request (FREE) and generally don't seem to be too bothered about increasing our Dividends! :cuppa
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)
