Hi.
I'm aware that if i decide to sell my eligible shares in october that i will be liable to pay income tax and national insurance on those shares.
My question is, does anyone know roughly how much these charges will be?
I'm a part timer, so i will be receiving the pro-rata amount of free shares.
Thanks for any help.

Taken from the guide we all received at the time and is also available here: https://www.myroyalmail.com/sites/defau ... ochure.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You will have to pay income tax and National Insurance on the lower of:
• the market value of Free Shares at the time you are given them; or
• the market value of Free Shares when you remove them from the SIP.
You will also not have to pay capital gains tax when the Free Shares leave the SIP.
Basic rate Income Tax is 20% and NI is 12% so a total of 32% will be taken off the value of your 2013 share allocation value for cashing them in 2 years early.
Dealing charges will also be deducted.
