Booking a day off on strike day!!

I found out today that some postmen in my office after hearing which day the strike is to take place have arranged for a days annual leave. Is it only me that finds this totally out of order???????

If it gets authorised it'll open a can of worms
Never known any company when faced with ia
To allow staff to duck out of any responsibility by taking hold
Usually hols are put on ice till after the action
