Sky news are saying...Sky News RM Shares
Each eligible full-time employee in Royal Mail is entitled to 725 free shares with an initial market value of £3,545.25 - above the £3,000 maximum amount that can be allocated to an individual member of staff in a tax year under HMRC rules.

This is what I don't understand, full time is 39 hours, part time is 20 hours, but, and I might be wrong, are deliveries on 30 hours? if so, surely that is not part time, and in theory they should get the full amount of shares :thumbup

Rough maths here

725 Shares and £3,545.25 for a 39 hour week

so that means 18.5 to 19 shares per hour worked and the shares are £4.89 each.

The difficulty is that no one on here will be able to give a full answer as they won't know how many hours you averaged up to 39, over the qualifying period.

Letters are going out this week, and as we can't cash them in for 3 years, or use them as any kind of security, I think people should be able to wait for the official figure.

What if you was off on Sick leave during the qualifying period? Will it just be allocated at your contracted hours?

You have zero shares as you will be asked to sign an alteration to your terms and conditions within 12 months. You have zero shares to cash in. You might get a big £30 dividend in a years time though. Guess what you still have no shares to sell then either. The question you should be asking is "where the fucxs my April payrise? Or "how can I as a union member, ensure a future for my union brothers and sisters?"
