If privatisation is so great why are so many former public utilities in the Top 10 Worst companies?

Privatisation. Definition: public companies sold off to become more efficient and more answerable to customers.
As we know, this is a myth, born out this week by a Which? survey grading customer satisfaction for the UK’s top 100 companies.
No surprises that npower, BT, EDF Energy, British Gas and E.ON – all providing essential utilities, which would have been publicly-owned pre-1980s Tory Government – feature in the Top 10 Worst.
To them profit is more important than service and shareholders are more important than customers. That is the true definition of privatisation.

Don't forget the foreign owned railway companies running around 70% of the British rail network, all of them state owned and returning profits to their home countries which no doubt help to keep rail fares lower than they are in the UK.
