Come on am I the only one who see's the PR result in facing Clegg & Co at their conference, showing them we care and getting in the faces of these weasels. National news coverage with Clegg being harrast by a load of Glasgow's CWU members who tell him to his face what we think.

Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg was among the high-profile visitors to our stand at the Liberal Democrats’ annual conference in Glasgow yesterday.

Our public affairs team have been busy at the conference while also raising the profile of our chosen charity for this year, Prostate Cancer UK.

The team have been selling Smilers personalised stamps to raise money for the charity.

Other visitors have so far included Dr Vince Cable MP and leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Kirsty Williams AM.

David Gold, head of public affairs at Royal Mail, said: ‘Whether it's to ask about local delivery services or to arrange a visit to their local delivery office, conference season is a great opportunity to strengthen relationships with our political stakeholders.

‘We also get a huge amount of positive feedback from delegates who praise their local postmen or women.

‘It just reinforces how much affection there is for Royal Mail and the people who wear our uniform.’

There will be a protest outside the Conservative Party conference on Sunday 29th September in Manchester. I remember reading somewhere that the CWU is supporting it, but I haven't seen any information about coaches or trains organised to get there. Does anyone have these details?
I am going on a coach organised by my local Trades Council.

Another newspaper letters page chock full of opposition to Royal Mail privatisation today - this time the Mirror. And more letters in the Independent and Telegraph also raise fears over privatisation. We're taking all this opposition to the Lib Dem conference for a fringe meeting tonight.

Posted on facebook - so they are attending although a "Fringe Meeting" isn't quite a demo , they have had them in both Cleggs and Cables constituencies already this year.

Notice "the Glasgow postcode area" in the background- yes, not much immediate danger to six day deliveries here, but don't mention the Highlands and Islands.
