Privatisation
In Bristol today Mr Tony Fox, Processing Director, held a forum for postal workers to try and brain wash us in saying privatisation was good for us the Postal Workers,
Mr Fox Mr Cable Ms Green get it into your heads the postal workers and public do not want privatisation and we will fight you all the way.Why do top management of
Royal Mail want this? Why don't the top management(not their lackeys)support their own workers and reject this?or is there a pay off for the top people, remember when we win, you the so called top people will be out of work.Britain stand together and stop this fantastic institution from going into foreign hands

Re: Privatisation
Vince cable, michael fallon, tories , lib dems, moya greene, royal mail board, business leaders and all of that ilk. Please dont judge posties using your own low moral standards. We dont want your shares or your blood money. We are not ruthless or unscrupulous. We dont measure success by the size of our bank accounts or by the trimming of people's jobs. So keep your shares and I will keep my values. I know who will be the richer.
Cheesed off lol after being force fed privatisation propaganda at work for the umpteenth time. I wish we could concentrate on delivering letters lol

Not forgetting the constant crap we get through the post at home, some of which arrived again this morning.
Sending it back, unopened.

Re: Privatisation
I think you will find all politicians Labour included want the privatisation. I don't think it's a bad thing for Parcelforce but RM is a bad idea m'kayass asin wrote:Vince cable, michael fallon, tories , lib dems, moya greene, royal mail board, business leaders and all of that ilk. What does FREE SHARES really mean
Further cuts in T&Cs
Reduction in Headcount
Everlasting chase for profits.
Employment Insecurity
Supplements Disappearing
Harder Duties
Attacks on the Union
Reduction of the USO
Escalting Industrial Unrest
Scaling back services
Nothing is ever really Free, they just hide the costs.

Unlike the last 10 years of Government ownership when none of those things have happened of course. I really don't understand why it is thought that the Government makes a better shareholder than anybody else.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:What does FREE SHARES really mean

At least under Government ownership, we know where any potential profits will end up.Brain Fury wrote:Unlike the last 10 years of Government ownership when none of those things have happened of course. If privatised, any profits will line the pockets of the chosen few, which will be increased ruthlessly at our cost.

Re: Privatisation
And the last time we were given free shares, a month before they were due to be cashed we had another meeting telling us they were no longer available and that they were only "phantom shares"

Re: Privatisation
O.k so where will any profits end up if we stay under Government ownership? If they are not reinvested in the business does it matter? And you're saying that if privatised any profit will be taken out of the business as a dividend to shareholders (I assume that's who you mean by the chosen few)? Not might be, will be and not some of it, all of it? That all seems very definite. How can you be so sure? If I were a shareholder (and of course I will be) I would want most of the profits invested in the business so that it grows and prospers and gives me a better chance of future dividends and the opportunity to sell my shares at a profit.UnhappyGremlin wrote:At least under Government ownership, we know where any potential profits will end up.Brain Fury wrote:Unlike the last 10 years of Government ownership when none of those things have happened of course.
