Lol, chap supporting privatisation on beeb. When asked about USO said you cant trust politicians, he expects a 3 day rotational service within 5yrs.

I think he's right. And that will be just in urban areas. Maybe weekly or collect mail yourself in rural areas.
And less than 5 years.

Deutsche Post was privatised in 2000, Österreichische Post was privatised in 2006 ... and AFAIK neither of them now only delivers 3 days a week in urban areas and not at all elsewhere. And if my Google-fu is correct, they also both pay better than Royal Mail too. Ich muss mehr Deutsch lernen!

I've never heard Royal Mail managers praising the German or Austrian Postal Services as models to be aspired to. It's always TNT and the Dutch Postal Service.
