The Communication Workers Union is using a bus to stop off at banks UBS, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, which are arranging the sale

The posties’ union is taking to the road next week to protest against plans to privatise the Royal Mail.

The Communication Workers Union is using a bus to stop off at banks UBS, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, which are arranging the sale.

Protests will also take place outside the Department for Business, postal regulator Ofcom and the Conservative and Lib Dem HQs.

Billy Hayes, CWU general secretary, said: “Royal Mail is thriving in public ownership, increasing its profits, providing good quality services and decent jobs.

"We want it to remain that way. Privatisation would be a throwback to the tired old politics of the 1980s.”
