SAVE OUR ROYAL MAIL



As Branches are aware we are about to commence the week of activity to support the Save Our Royal Mail campaign.



The two key elements of the week are to raise the awareness of the campaign to the public issuing the postcards with the aim of filling MPs postbags and growing member engagement. Branches are asked to try and involve as many members as possible in events. Branches are also reminded that all members will be receiving postcards to their home addresses and should be encouraged to send a postcard to their own MP and get friends and family to do the same.



In addition to the postcard campaign we want to obtain as many email addresses as possible. Therefore, where it is achievable, branches are encouraged to have a support sign-up sheet which requests email addresses. This will be used to drive e-traffic to the online petition and to the online letters to MP facility.



As you will be aware, the national event for the week is an open top bus tour of London, aimed at taking our campaign to the city. The tour comprises of several events that will raise awareness around the city but also take our messages to financial institutions, bankers and potential investors.



Any member is welcome on the bus at any time. There are several stops and events scheduled. An itinerary is attached to this LTB.
