Government hires banker for Royal Mail

THE GOVERNMENT has hired an investment banker, formerly of Deutsche Bank, to work on the affairs of Royal Mail, which is being primed for privatisation.

Jonathan Berger is said to have joined the Shareholder Executive, part of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. His appointment will increase speculation that a listing of Royal Mail could come later this year.
