•Royal Mail amongst top 10% of sustainable companies around the world
•Great scores for stakeholder engagement, corporate citizenship, corporate governance and fuel efficiency
•Strong performance in human capital development and operational eco-efficiency
•Continuing to develop our CR and sustainability agenda
When it comes to being sustainable, Royal Mail is up there with the best of them. That’s not just our opinion (we would say that!), but also that of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) – THE global benchmark.
The DJSI benchmarks companies’ sustainability performance in economic, social, and environmental criteria. It represents the top 10% of leading companies on sustainability.
After recently assessing Royal Mail, it has placed us amongst the leading companies in sustainability, with an overall score of 83.
We matched the best-in-sector (industrial transportation) scores for stakeholder engagement, corporate citizenship, corporate governance and fuel efficiency. We also performed strongly in human capital development and operational eco-efficiency.
Lily Heinemann, Royal Mail’s Head of Corporate Responsibility and Community Investment, said: ‘This is an exceptional achievement, particularly as we were a first-time responder to the questionnaire.
‘While the results show that we already rank amongst the leading companies in the world, we will use the results of this assessment to continue to develop and strengthen our corporate responsibility and sustainability agenda.’

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
