BRITAIN’S 115,000 red post boxes should be given listed building status to stop foreign companies changing their colour, the Government was told yesterday.

Tory MP Philip Hollobone said: “Were they to disappear as a result of privatisation it would be a national shame.” He told postal affairs minister Ed Davey that they were a great British symbol.

Mr Davey told Mr Hollobone that the “much-loved” boxes would remain red.

“Given the Royal Mail has 300 litres of red paint in stock, I think he can sleep easy in his bed,” he said.

I know all they are bothered about is keeping post boxes red and the Queens head staying on stamps , f*ck the univeral service , the Great British public getting their mail delivered cheaply and the thousands of jobs . .

Moya states that it's wrong for the British public to fund the modernisation of RM and bail out the pension deficit through taxation , so is she under the impression that some rich Arab is going to buy RM ( like they would a football club ) and run it for fun . When RM is privatised RM'S customers will be paying , who's that then Moya ? oh yes the British public but on top of modernisation they will have to pay the shareholders and for senior managements massive wage increases . The ConDems friends and Moya and Co will be like pigs at a through , they are repulsive greedy people and the British public are just going to sleep walk into this disaster and let RM be stolen .
