LTB 1140/10 - Keep the Post Public: National Rally & Demonstration Kingston Upon Thames, Saturday, 22 January 2011

No. 1140/10
Ref:
Date: 21 December 2010

To All Branches

Dear Colleagues,

Keep the Post Public: National Rally & Demonstration
Kingston Upon Thames, Saturday, 22 January 2011

Further to LTB 1134/10, we are now able to provide basic information about our national rally and demonstration in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Surrey on Saturday, 22 January 2011.

As colleagues will probably be aware, the 2 ministers responsible for the Postal Services Bill - Vince Cable and Ed Davey have neighbouring constituencies in this part of South West London.

The assembly point will be the Fairfield Recreation Ground (KT1 2PY) from 12 noon onwards.

The rally will take place at the Fairfield Recreation Ground between 12:30 and 13:30. We will then move off from there for a march at 13:30.

Branches and regions are asked to publicise these arrangements as widely as possible and to organise coaches and minibuses wherever it is possible to do so. If minibuses and coaches are arranged to bring people to Kingston, the organisers are asked to liaise with Chris Tapper (ctapper@cwu.org) or 020 8971 7331.

Further details on coach dropping off and collection locations will be provided in a subsequent LTB early in the New Year. However, the venue is fully accessible by public transport, with Kingston-Upon-Thames railway station being a very short distance from the assembly point.

Any queries on this LTB should be directed to the General Secretary's office.

Yours sincerely,

W. Hayes
General Secretary

D. Ward
Deputy General Secretary (Postal)

Yeah, bad planning. Not many posties will be on day off or annual leave, unless the cwu have negotiated a day off for all so that we can attend. Humbug Humbug.

This just typifies what we mean about those two idiots -Hayes and Ward- being out of touch doesn't it? Who, that is working that day, even if they lived nearby, can get to Kingston by that stupid bloody start time. Don't they remember that they negotiated our Saturdays to being a normal working day? Unbloodybelievable!!!
Hayes and Ward get your coats..... :left: :arrrghhh
