Dear Colleagues

KEEP THE POST PUBLIC - DAY OF ACTION

The British public post mail during December more than any other time. To ensure that we use this heightened awareness of the mail service for the benefit of our campaign, we will be holding a day of action across the country on Saturday 18th December 2010.

All Branches are requested to arrange street stalls in major towns and cities during the day to issue postcards for the public to sign in support of the campaign.

A new postcard, linked to a "Christmas post" theme will be issued to Branches and is due to arrive by Wednesday 15th December in Branch offices. These postcards are subject to one print run and will only be relevant during the "Christmas post" period. They must therefore be issued on that day.

To assist with the success of the campaign Branches must also:

Contact local CLP offices. CLP secretaries have been written to separately and also given a supply of the postcard. They have been advised of the day of action and all Labour MP's have been briefed to support and attend. Please ensure you contact both the CLP and Labour MP, where appropriate.

Contact all MP's of all parties to request their attendance and support.

Branches are requested to take speedy action to arrange for street stalls and to arrange for officials and reps to be present.

This is an initiative that we believe will add emphasis to public knowledge of our campaign and your support and efforts will be appreciated.
