Ed Davey, Minister for Employment Relations, Consumer and Postal Affairs, said today that not only was the Royal Mail in a mess, the Exchequer had no money and privatisation was the only option.

Well I'd give that Ed Davey a vote of approval it has only taken him a few weeks to come to the conclusion that Royal Mail is in a mess, we've known it for years but the Labour Government, Royal Mail Management and of course the CWU blithely ploughed on into the iceberg like a latter day Titanic - guess who'll be playing the music to the bitter end - or more to the point who won't be on the poop deck.
