Re: Privatition and your contracts
No, because we don't know yet what form the privatisation will take, and while TUPE laws should apply, I wouldn't put it past "Call me Twat" Cameron changing the law, so TUPE doesn't apply - in short, pay attention to the coming months.
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

When did they start giving out contracts?
I've done over twenty years now and as far as I know have never had one.

Re: Privatition and your contracts
What privatition will mean is a new contract for everyone after 1 year. With their terms and conditions. Rm will probably introduce a split-shift too. And no full-time contracts just part-time contracts.

Take over
When this new take over happens and Royal mail is sold under the hammer ......
I think its maybe time to realise that my life will not get any better from now on and if anything ill be on minimum wage soon.
I think its better to realise this now rather than waiste time "thinking" everyhings ok and then in one years time gettin the sack.....
so i am doing all i can to get out even tho "for now" the hourly rate seems descent . but on part time hours its like being on a full time job on 4 pound an hour.
Im not waisting my commitment for something that is a complete dead end
there is such a thing as having a future in a job even if it means starting at the bottom on low pay
Royal mail certainly isnt providing me with that and i really need a kick up the arse to get myself out of this situation
ive been here before so many times with other jobs going into insolvency etc - i wont be stung again

i feel sorry for the guys that hav ebeen there along time and dont seem to realise what is going to happen
Question - who is likely to buy RM and what is there history

Re: Take over
I also want out but not in a hurry. I am doing a degree part time with open university done 2 years so far and got 4 more years to go. I have to work out what kind of jobs I want. It might well be ok as new management might be even better and they can sort thing out. But again it depend on who is taking over.

Re: Take over
Whoever buys RM will not take on the pension deficit. That will be left to the government to honour which, bearing in mind that they claim not to have a pot to piss in, is not good news for us.Who's gonna take over this s**t company with our pension deficit.
It looks increasingly likely that we will end up with a reduced pension.
