No. 630/10
Ref GS 11.0
Date: 20th July 2010
(All Branches)
TO: THE BRANCH SECRETARY
Dear Colleague,
CWU'S RESPONSE TO RICHARD HOOPER
We reported in LTB 567/10 that the Government had asked Richard Hooper to update his December 2008 report on the maintenance of the universal postal service in the UK. The formal BIS announcement stated that the update would consider recent developments in the postal sector and Royal Mail and would look at the whether the original recommendations still provide the best solutions to the challenges faced by the company.
Organisations with an interest were invited to submit their views, including Royal Mail, Postcomm, Ofcom, the CWU and Consumer Focus.
The union made it's formal response on Friday 16th July 2010 and this is attached for your information. This document was also presented to MPs and Peers who attended the CWU Parliamentary Briefing in the House of Commons on Monday 19th July 2010. Copies will be forwarded to all Parliamentarians.
If you have any enquires relating to this LTB please contact the General Secretary's Office.
Yours sincerely,
BILLY HAYES
GENERAL SECRETARY

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
