HOOPER REVIEW

Branches will be aware of the document “Modernise or Decline” which arose out of the Labour Party 2005 Manifesto to review the impact of Liberalisation of Postal Services. You will also know that the Coalition Government is committed to introducing a Bill to privatise Royal Mail in October 2010.

As part of this process Hooper has invited the Union to update our evidence which was provided to him during the original review.
The General Secretary received a letter from him on 28th June, copy of which is attached as an appendix to this LTB.

The Union will be submitting a response to Richard Hooper pointing out the extremely tight timetable. A meeting will take place with Richard Hooper in the next few weeks.
