EXCLUSIVE

Royal Mail chiefs sparked fury yesterday after a letter revealed they are already making privatisation plans.

Union bosses and MPs insisted it should not be plotting a partial sell-off when the move had yet to be debated in Parliament.

The letter was sent to an estimated 10,000 staff from Alan Cook, managing director of the Post Office.

In it, he says that under the changes they would shift employment from Royal Mail group to Post Office Ltd.

The letter warns of new pension arrangements for all staff while claiming this would not affect those whose deals were drawn up before any sell-off.

Labour MP Lindsay Hoyle said: "You'd have thought Royal Mail would wait for the democratic process to go through the House of Commons." And Communication Workers Union leader Billy Hayes blasted: "Royal Mail is jumping the gun."

The Royal Mail said its "only intention was to reassure our people that, should the Government make any changes to the overall Royal Mail group, our people's pensions and conditions of employment would be protected".

Cook was put in on a very high salary to get POL into profit , there's nothing positive about his approach , it's all slash and burn and sales culture unlike the People's Bank Idea or the Italian Post Office .

With RMG, the first two :lfo years were to play people up against the CWU , after 2004 , Senior Management have always been pro - privatization , the problem was that a lot of time was wasted in pushing for it , hence the no vision , no imagination etc charge that has been often leveled against them . Then " suddenly " :cfo needed Government loans for "modernization " in 2007 :Very Happy .

It was obvious there was " managed decline " to make privatization look like the only cure for RM's ills . One hated Senior Manger ( aren't they all ? ) resigned as the " Business Plan " was corporate suicide .

It really got nasty in 2006 and thereafter , RM wanted a fast track RMAP , Team Working etc at it's RDC's but it was defeated as the Union threatened a strike ballot , even at Daventry where RM deliberately recruited staff off the street to neutralize the unionised culture .

:lfo introduced share in failure etc and was hoping to get a deal after the 2005 General Election to get privatization but New Liebour couldn't really go against the Warwick Agreement or face a back bench rebellion and withdrawal of union funding which is now according to the New Labour right - wing rump , " just a vision " .

In 2007 , RM's senior management wanted the CWU's back broken to railroad privatization through - i.e. " We've had the Miners , We've had Red Robbo and Longridge , now this , this will be a tipping point in RM's history " and a sweetheart in house union .

It's "funny " how most of them have had to " persue other careers " ? .

As ineffective as the CWU have appeared , they have stopped a lot of what :lfo & :cfo have envisaged for RM Group . :mfo is just a sad bitter vindictive old Queen who is still bitter that he didn't get his own way a decade before ,a deluded idiot stuck in 1997 blaming everybody but himself , a former Young Communist now Thatcherite to his finger tips .

With your permission can I plagiarize your piece ? to give out to the shopfloor
no problem ! - Bishop was the Senior Manager that resigned , if I remember rightly ? , :mfo doesn't slur the CWU for nothing , Senior Management are still after Team working with the five step plan , Pegasus is the first step .

The excuse that a fluffy apologist of dubious identity uses is that " Senior Management plans may seem brutal but they are necessary to turn RM into a commercial company by 2010 / 11 to comply with the EEC directive and people must get out of the public service mindset " . " Commercial " means yes sir , no sir , how high shall we jump and a sweetheart union and we'll make you grateful you've a job by turning the clock back 100 years .

The pendulum can swing too far the other way ?

Needless to say , Mandy is praised to skies , as to ride the recession out , it's better that the postal operators get bigger , I'd translate that into aggressive corporate takeovers and private monopolies and profit with the state taking over the debt & USO - OR when these companies go bust , Gordy will rescue them :Very Happy

ALSO RM Senior & Area Mangers will be on the lookout for takeover share and bonus options - staff will get f**k all - :lfo - " Share options makes them think they've a stake in the company and you get away with paying them less " - no wonder there's been constant union bashing and we can all sell our mothers !

Previously it was systematically targeted staff in disputes at Bristol & Burslem were " not put on trumped charges , there simply was no evidence :left: " , " ranting and what is really only speculation :left: will make things difficult for reinstated staff :whistle : :Boo hoo! - just a change in tact :hmmmm
