Ska event to support post office

Postal workers are heading to the dance floor to drum up support for a new campaign.

This weekend local trade unions are set to hold a night of ska and reggae music in a Wimbledon pub, in order to highlight their opposition to Government plans to privatise part of the postal service.

The Keep The Post Public Ska Explosion will kick off at 7.30pm this Saturday at the Grove Tavern in Morden Road, South Wimbledon.

Geoff Martin from Merton and Sutton TUC said: “There are many ways that we can support the Communication Workers’ Union in their fight against plans to sell off the post office but if you can do it while jumping up and down to the Specials on a Saturday night in south London that’s got to be a result.

“We would urge people to come down to the Grove on Saturday, show your support for your postal services and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes.”
