Defend our public mail service

FOR over 150 years the Royal Mail has been a tried and trusted part of British life.
Day in, day out, from Highland croft to South Downs cottage, from mansion to council house, it has delivered everyone’s daily post.
Last year it made a profit, costing the taxpayer nothing to run. But regardless of this, the ‘Labour’ Government wants to begin privatising it and hopes to sell almost a third of our postal service off to a foreign multinational company.
The arguments Mandelson & Co are putting up for privatising Royal Mail show just how Thatcherite the Labour Party now is.
They repeatedly talk of the great public service that is Royal Mail as “the company”, which “needs foreign investment to compete”, whilst its obligations to pay retired postal staff the pensions they have built up pounding from doorstep to doorstep for decades in all weathers are denounced as a “dangerous liability”.
But our postal service isn’t a commercial undertaking and it shouldn’t be competing with anyone – it’s a public service, like the Fire Brigade, the NHS and the Army.
It isn’t there to make a profit, it’s there to deliver the mail.
As such, it serves the British people, not the profits of shareholders, such as the multinational corporation TNT to which Labour wants to sell 30% of the Royal Mail.
It’s certainly true that Royal Mail has seen the most profitable parts of its operation creamed off by TNT and its fellow multinational mail corporations in recent years – and that’s because the ‘Labour’ Government let them muscle in on our mail service in the first place.
This left the Royal Mail to uphold the obligation to provide a universal mail service to all Britons, regardless of how remote or inaccessible their dwelling place. It should have been held together to maintain the whole post as a public service so that the easier and more lucrative parts of the operation could help pay for the more demanding but socially necessary parts of the service.
Cameron’s Conservatives will also vote for the sell-off, which is hardly surprising considering that this Labour Government is more Thatcherite than Margaret Thatcher’s Government was itself.
The banner of the British Labour Movement, and, indeed, the traditions and ideals of its founders is today carried proudly aloft only by the British National Party. We alone will not privatise our public services, like Royal Mail and only the BNP will nationalise the banks, transport, energy, and the other services and infrastructure so that the lifeblood of our nation can be kept flowing for the benefit of our people, and not for private profit.

We're going to need a very long spoon indeed.
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?

Supping with the devil you know is better than supping with the devil you don't. He makes good points on our behalf but I would have liked an acknowledgement of the particular value of our many work colleagues that don't fit in with the BNP view of modern Britain. We are all in this together and a prospective ally that doesn't accept us all for what we are can f**k right off.Thorby Bislam wrote:We're going to need a very long spoon indeed.

The BNP are very good at s**t stirring but not very good at making things work in Local Government and / or presenting an alternative , judging by some of their thick dodgy councillors ; so I doubt
It wasn't that long ago they decided to drop the flight jackets and DM's image and kick Tyndall out as there was too many embarrassing photos knocking about , of him and his mates dressing up in Nazi Uniforms .
With Members of the Royal Family wearing Nazi Uniforms - it's more of a family ancestral heritage thing

shimmyrule - were you previously 'amma fairman'(not) - the fascist troll from Dundee,
or his previous identity? Only he seems to have disappeared from the members list and
his posts seem to have been deleted, and your posts sound remarkably similar to his.

all this leave the EEC &
Sounds familiar, the tories and labour are no friend of mine, and labour have made a right pigs ear of things. Looking on their site they even have their own union "solidarity" so dont know if they would ban unions. Also they dont like the term nazis - they are not after blitzkrieging poland, just against the EU and the sorry state of immigration at the moment.

No firms recognize solidarity , secondly you'd be paying £5 per week for non representation bar a Tribunal Hearing - the bloke behind Solidarity has a dodgy past but criminal convictions look good on your CV with the BNPEdward Hunter wrote:I doubt if the extreme right would be really be very keen on organized labour . The BNP's game is to get people to join the established unions , then when members are chucked out for BNP membership , the BNP takes those unions to court
I also remember some BNP propaganda " accidentally " getting in the bags - About the money Unions were paying out to " Red " & " Commie " Organizations - Never thought of Billy Hayes as a rampant Tankie but he was mentioned along with others .
then of course you've got that vile site - " Red Watch " - I'd recommend that some people on here , check if they've been put on it
