Selling Shares
Having retired from RM for 10 years, I can't find my share certificate and don't know if I ever had any! The Form of Acceptance for the IDS Offer requires a certificate to be included. Can I sell my shares without a certificate?

Ah yes, I remember those "phantom shares". I think it was the start of the road towards what RM really want at the time - Privatisation. Those shares expired worthless to anyone that had them.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Unless you were one of the lucky ones to take VR just after we were given them... Those guys got over 2K for them back in 2008.postslippete wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 16:55Ah yes, I remember those "phantom shares". Re: Selling Shares
I don't think you need the certificate. If you have received a letter recently, which I did, outlining why we should accept the sale of our shares before the 25th, just follow the link and then type in the voting number and code at the bottom of the letter. I did that on Sunday as it seems we are just being forced into selling them before the inevitable sale of the company. It was pretty straightforward and said we'd receive any money in 3 weeksmailsortdreams wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 14:39Having retired from RM for 10 years, I can't find my share certificate and don't know if I ever had any! The colleague share certificate may be worth something to a collector, there are people who collect these things like railway enthusiast collect railway stuff.qwerty2 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 16:43If they’re the shares from Leighton/crozier/consignia era they are worthlessmailsortdreams wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 14:39Having retired from RM for 10 years, I can't find my share certificate and don't know if I ever had any! Re: Selling Shares
The shares are currently worth 365.5. That’s 2.5p less than the offer price. If you were to sell them yourself, for 100 shares you would get £2.50 less than the offer price, for 1000 shares, £25 less, but you’d have the money in your bank in less than a week.Frankie15 wrote: ↑23 Apr 2025, 14:23
