England has about six times the poulation density of Scotland ( 383 ; 65 per sq km ) so can probably deliver letters at about a sixth of the cost.
Independance for either Scotland or England, it matters little which, and stamp prices will plummet in England and soar in Scotland.
Ireland has about the same as Scotland but it runs it's own postal service at a reasonable price so if it's possible for them then it's possible for Scotland.
Jersey & Guernsey... oh and the Isle of Man, all run their own postal services too
But Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man are NOT part of the United Kingdom Scotland is.
Correct they are part of the British Isles, but are not part part of the United Kingdom or Great Britain. They are Crown Dependencies.

If Scotland want independence then they should pay for it all, I'm quite happy living with Scotland as part of the United Kingdom, so I don't want my taxes going up thank you, for what is obviously going to cost billions of £.

Unlike the Republic of Ireland which is part of the British Isles but is most certainly not a Crown Dependency.
Thankfully Ireland is NOT part of the UK, imagine having to subsidise the country's postal service and 3m population, with the size of that country with all its remote villages.....
Isle of man, Jersey and Guernsey couldn't really be compared like for like as the area they deliver to is a lot smaller than Scotland or the UK.

Heres' point as i swore under oath for queen and Country,will i get dragged back in the army careers office and swear too Salmond and oath ?
Seiously though,the Argentines are threating too take over the Falklands again,more so with the oil.So if independence was declared would that mean Scotland would have too battle them with England for the oil rights etc...?
