Wednesday 16/10 is when Robbo's killer is revealed in Neighbours.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The initial market value of the 10 per cent. stake in Royal Mail which is being made available free to eligible employees will be based on the closing mid-price at the end of the trading day on 15 October 2013
The initial market value is irrelevant to anybody holding free shares.
The number of shares issued to employees has to be 10% of the entire holding.
That means 100 million shares split between employees (pro rata of course).
The only relevant market value will be the value on the day you sell them and that's at least 3 years away.

I've heard we are getting £2200 worth of shares not at the £3.30 float price, but at the end of tuesday trading (which could be well into the 4 quids) therefore if that end of tuesday price is high - we get less amount of shares ?? :mad

The employees were promised a 10% stake in the company.
That means 10% of the shares whether they are worth 1p or £10.

ok, so what's it valued at? if it's valued at float £3.30 we get approx 666 (spooky) shares. if it sky rockets to say £6.60 at the end of Tuesday we get 333 shares, for F/T and a £2200 worth of shares for example. therefore it's in our interest to get float price? unless it falls to a pound (not going to happen)on tue and we get 2200 shares instead. I know it's likely to be worth sweet f-all in 3 years, but even so..

It doesn't matter what the company is valued at. We get 10% of the shares regardless. The more the company is valued at the more our shares are initially worth but we get the same number no matter what.

As of now our shares are worth around £2900.

Correct. Although really the share price is pretty much irrelevant for either three or five years, unless of course you bought additional shares via the EPO.

fair enough, I thought we may of been getting £2200 worth of shares from the start, so it's approx 666 shares then?

Probably closer to 700 shares for full-time given the effect of pro-rata.

let's hope they at least stick to that side of it. not really expecting to get much out of it in 3-5 years anyway, but who knows.
