Nope - just that the governments share allocation has been fully subscribed - which means that there is an interest shown for every share they MIGHT sell. Not a single share has been sold yet - the game is still on, there is everything to fight for still. If we create enough problems defending our pay claims and protecting our T&Cs by voting YES, then a lot of the interest may dry up.
Its like when you are selling your house, some people have had a look round your living room and have taken away the brochure - it doesn't mean they are going to move in next week and change the wallpaper. You can still let the kids draw on it.
The guaranteed dividend makes an investment an attractive proposition sadly - vote Yes absolutely but I fear the horse has bolted the stable...

New Labour was like the conservative party but having listened to Ed Miliband earlier this week I think he gets it and is more a socialist than any leader of the labour party since Neil Kinnock. Also LABOUR is the only real alternative against the TWO parties whom I detest for it is they and their capitalist ideology which has left OUR ROYAL MAIL in it's perilous state today.
He said a lot about what he was going to give, he failed to say how it was going to paid for.
Be interesting to see what edf do with the nuclear power station they started to build in somerset, now miliband has said if he gets in he'll cap energy costs.

Exactly. They opened the door, and when they lost their nerve, they dropped the idea but left the door wide open for the 'sell Britain to the highest bidder' Tory toffs, to just step in and finish off the already half finished job.
Not yet but we are going into the private sector no matter what I will strike if the CWU wants me to but its not going to stop this pointless sell ,off the only way to beat these conservative scumbags is to take up your preferential share options to keep as much of our company in our own hands

All that has happened is they have released the share prospectus for interested parties, and they did that on the same day as the CWU officially launched the ballot, it was a purely political move and completely cynical. They are trying to get posties to think its a done deal and give up.
They are crapping themselves and we need a YES vote, and if its a big one then the price of the shares is going to plummet and the Government will be pissed off.

To stop minimum wage.
To protect your T&Cs for more than 3 years.
To protect your pension
To put the bullying and harassing managers on notice
To get the workload situation sorted in Deliveries

Technically no. but practically yes.
The offer for sale started last friday and was oversubscribed within hours, ie investors were after more shares than are available.
Technically we will be sold in just over a week on Tuesday the 8th of October when the Gov accepts the money and allocates the shares. job done!
A long shot and will please a lot of you but it could be possible that if the Americans don't do a deal tonight market will tumble and that could lead to the postponement of privatisation. The price of Royal Mail shares could drop if the ftse takes a tumble.
