When you compare our job now, to what it was 8 years ago, most people could be forgiven for thinking that RM had been sold 8 years ago.luckyllama wrote:we will be sold off long before five years

The pension hole exists on paper only at the moment, the pension fund has enough money to pay pensions as they fall due, it is a prediction of something that will very likley happen a future date.
The government would not have to find 10 billion all in one go,
For some of us this government will be just another page in the history books by the time our pension is due to be paid, I will very likely and hopefully see another 5 to 6 general elections. The state of the nations finances then is pure guess work.
If RM obtains a sound footing once more then the government as partial shareholder will want a return on its ownership of RM thus providing money for pensions
