Mandelson gliding from the car toward a lone girl, irrelevant and invisible beneath his vainglorious detachment, suddenly vulgarized by the placid moment as she throws the most convoluted of insults, both extraordinary and commonplace, to the muffled soundtrack of silence and confusion...she vehemently whimpers towards his fleeing body as men turn in abashed stupor...

Bring back these days of beauty. Now we are arrested for photography. This is a wonderful expression of refined revenge.

What's it with Mandelson and green foodstuffs?

That classic story - He was canvassing for an election in his Hartlepool some years back and, desperate to appear a man of the people, went into his local chippy.

Man behind counter: "What can I get you?"

Peter M: "Oooo, I'd like some chips please. Oh and give me some of that lovely
looking guacamole dip too"

Man behind counter: "Er.....those are mushy peas actually"
