I suggest we keep a eye on this http://edmi.parliament.uk/EDMi/EDMDetai ... DMID=37532" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As an Amendment to Smith, Geraldine's proposed Motion (ROYAL MAIL):

EDM 428A1

ROYAL MAIL 19.01.2009

Spink, Bob 1 signatures

leave out from `operations' to end.

If I have read that right he basically supports the Hooper report and wants us part privatised,
That this House notes that the Labour Party Conference 2008, with the backing of Ministers, supported a vision of a wholly publicly-owned, integrated Royal Mail Group; welcomes the conclusion of the Hooper Report that the current universal service obligation offered by Royal Mail, including six days a week delivery, must be protected and that the primary duty of a new regulator should be to maintain it; further welcomes the recommendations in the Report that the Government should take responsibility for the pensions deficit which followed an extended contributions holiday; endorses the call for a new relationship between management and postal unions and welcomes the commitment of the Communication Workers Union to negotiate an agreement which would support the modernisation of the industry; observes that in 2007 the Government agreed to a £1.2 billion loan facility on commercial terms to modernise Royal Mail
Is it a spoiling action by a Brownite :hmmmm

How Bob Spink voted on key issues since 2001:

* Has never voted on a transparent Parliament. votes, speeches
* Voted moderately for introducing a smoking ban. votes, speeches
* Voted moderately against introducing ID cards. votes, speeches
* Voted moderately against introducing foundation hospitals. votes, speeches
* Voted strongly against introducing student top-up fees. votes, speeches
* Voted moderately against Labour's anti-terrorism laws. votes, speeches
* Voted very strongly for the Iraq war. votes, speeches
* Voted moderately for an investigation into the Iraq war. votes, speeches
* Has never voted on replacing Trident. votes, speeches
* Voted very strongly against the hunting ban. votes, speeches
* Voted very strongly against equal gay rights. votes, speeches
* Voted moderately for laws to stop climate change. votes, speeches

I have added this EDM to my alerts so I can keep an eye on it.

Yep - missed that

Still UKIP are a one topic party and although can't be dismissed as they do get votes, they are pretty much a non-entity nationally.

Have emailed Ming campbell to support the EDM but no reply yet.

My mp who is new liebour by the way will not sign it, then again thats no surprise our MC is facing closure and its in her constituency and the best she could come up with was " Royal Mail have assured her that nobody will be made redundant and that the quality of service will not be affected" well if RM have said it it must be true!!!! Anne coffey who is MP for stockport complained to union head quarters about our "dreadful" behaviour just because we had the temmerity to turn up and picket one of her surgeries, she is nothing but a self serving, incompetent new liebour poodle, have a look at her voting record its appalling!!!!

Too dogmatic ???? - what a strange argument. Its not like salt you cant flavour it just so. Your either for or against it, both arguments could be called dogmatic because your either for or against any privatisation at all but their is no 3rd way. Perhaps thats what confuses some, when they have to make a decision based on principle they need a 3rd get out clause.

Give me one conviction politician with views opposed to mine - over 10 party politicians with the same views. At least I would have some respect for the conviction politician.

I think that if our politicians say anything that Gordy doesn't like then he'll stop giving us money, we keep getting money to pay this and that (rates and water to name two)
