I find it strange that Equiniti staff are just giving out this info willy nilly on the phone. Would have thought a proper announcement through the market would have to be made otherwise info whether true or false could drive share prices up or down

There ARE proper announcements via the RNS system which can be viewed on the lse.co.uk site. They’re published every Monday (might be Tuesday next week).

In that case, perhaps you should wait until they announce they've got 75%(assuming they do) and then accept the offer. :hmmmm
You'll have at least 14 days to do so.

Rather than “are you all selling.” you should all be buying (in my opinion). It’s (probably) too late now but if RM employees would have bought more shares and built up a considerable holding no one would have been able to launch any takeover bid. I don’t know how many employees there are but based on a guess of 120,000 if everyone had 4,000 shares then that’d be over 50% of the company. FWIW I still have my original 3030 shares from the IPO that we were all guaranteed to be able to buy. There was only my manager and me from our office who did so. Ps. I’m not happy with the offer but have accepted it. I’m hoping the big holders don’t accept.

Unfortunately many people in Royal Mail live from pay day to pay day so spending thousands of pounds on shares (which could be worth less when you come to eventually sell) is unrealistic.

After all the free shares were handed out, the employees had around 12-13% of the company, which could have been a decent base to start from. But the last time I heard it was around 5%, and that's after the introduction of the tax efficient P&M scheme.
*I'm sure some are also held by employees outside of the SIP.

That tells a story.
Money talks louder than a vote at the AGM!

I also bought some shares via the Employee Priority Offer(EPO) and sold them 6 weeks later for a cool 80% profit.

Reading the RNS, i think it states 40% is the level of acceptances reached, not what he owns

It tells the story of late stage capitalism. Everyone wants to make a quick buck off the back of others losing. Billionaires are winning this by a long shot and everyone else is suffering for it, some more than others.

Acceptance figure is slightly up. Now 13.34%. I reckon these will be published every day now.

I have got rid of mine. I received a tender offer of 360gbx per share and I had it until the 25th of April to respond. I decided to sell it all at market rate for 365.8gbx and just move on. I have since reinvested it all and I am doing well.
