No one cares call the strikes,if they go into administration they are going to be investigated and charged with mismanagement hopefully fraud and all end up in prison, call the strikes enough is enough.

If the government allow the uso to become 4 days a week and then RM can focus on that and 7 day parcel delivery it will be good for business.
I’m hoping that’s what happens now.
Otherwise this is going to rumble on and on and on and on

Won't that be bad for those in deliveries who can't drive as on parcel only days RM are only going to want those who can drive working. Those who can't drive would probably be doing approx 9hr days, which is bound to mean an increase in the outdoor workFilthyBloke wrote: ↑03 Apr 2023, 22:40If the government allow the uso to become 4 days a week and then RM can focus on that and 7 day parcel delivery it will be good for business.

It probably would. But even 9 hour shifts you are looking at no more than 6 hours delivering.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑04 Apr 2023, 09:26Won't that be bad for those in deliveries who can't drive as on parcel only days RM are only going to want those who can drive working. But remember they will also get 3 rest days.
Until the non drivers are phased out they would be on the 4 longer day deliveries. The rest of the parcel shifts would have to be agreed with the drivers but I think that’s the way forward.

Do you not think Monday to Friday letter/parcels delivery sat/sun parcels would be a better option there's plenty of people at our office would love the weekend off and others would like the o/t at the weekend or maybe some would love to work just 2days delivering parcels it's a damn site easier delivering parcels than walking

Re: Will Royal Mail declare itself insolvent?
That's the whole problem with this saga, no one really knows how the future looks. A longer day 4 day letters delivery OR a 5 day letters delivery - with weekends off, that would be welcomed by many people. (plus you wouldn't need cover etc) Everyone knows the problem NOW are the revised duties that cannot be completed, an embarrassment to Royal Mail and they should be fined heavily albeit by the sleeping regulator who's not interested anymore.
