Postbox location proposal hazardous for RM workers advice

Hi,

Firstly, apologies, I'm not a post office worker but this seems to fit in H&S better than anywhere else. I'll delete/repost if needed.

A postbox has been removed and RM propose putting it on the corner of a road which is the start of a rat run just inside a 30 zone from a 60 NSL road.

It's got a wide splay at the junction and I suspect someone has just looked on google maps and thought, "that'll do," not knowing the local problem. Both RM staff and pedestrians at risk of being hit by cars putting it in the place they suggest.

They've basically said it's here or nowhere (which we also don't believe as it's nigh on a mile to the others in the village with a fair amount of older people with mobility problems).

We've assessed the hazard and it's significant enough to need addressing, so the location is not suitable. RM haven't sent on their risk assessment though so we don't know what they're thinking.

Any advice on how to deal with RM appreciated. I've left a message with the local CWU office this morning.
