Heat in the summer.

Post by Mk2Golf »

Hi Guys,
Im a relatively new postie (Joined just over a year ago), I really struggle to work in the heat and I wonder what any of you guys do to help combat this.
Ive been left so ill before from heatstroke that I nearly passed out.
Today it was (According to the Van Temp) 25'.. Now I know that isnt really hot hot as ive worked in 30'+ before...But im starting to struggle. I put on a hat, suncream and had water with me but halfway through the walk I had a migraine, was boiling hot and dizzy (from the heat.. not corona!!)
I love my job and dont want to leave, obviously its not a viable option for RM to 'let' me have summer off, both for myself and the business.
Thanks :Very Happy :chuckle

Drench your hat in water and wear it, other than that I just drink alot, had my first summer just gone

I wear a long sleeve also because arms get too burnt, regardless of applying sun lotion throughout the day

One big difference for delivery staff this year (well potentially - depending on what happens with the lockdown) is that most if not all of the places where you might take a break for food/drink and/or a toilet break will be closed
