Health and Safety executive saying heat at 34 degrees is ok to work in....

Bit of a cheek when he stays in the office it would seem!

For the first time in how long we have had a health and safety executive attend our broken office down south! We are a small office with so many fails, lack of management skills and consideration to staff. We are treated like slaves why the managers laugh at our expense.

Yesterday, temperatures rose to a whole 29 degrees high, yet when we arrived back at the office after walking in that blazing heat for 4 to 5 hours we were made to do more lapsing because of shortness of staff (if they treated us better we would have less sickness). It is our fault that staff went of sick and we should be penalised, as they keep saying to us "Shut up and just get on with it!" Highly acceptable from a very well coordinated managerial team (thats what they think).

Moving forward to today a health and safety executive arrive, no uniform, own clothes (his own shorts and a t-shirt and own trainers) yet we are forced to wear our overly baggy thick shorts that could really be used for stuffing a pillow and our supposed smart shirt that has mostly sweat dripping down the backs of them, do not forget about our clumpy sweaty work footwear that are so appropriate for this heat. Yet we get disciplined if we are seen in our own attire, again one rule for one and one rule for the other.

We mentioned the heat outside and in, but yet he claimed "the heat is fine, the working condition are ok to work in today, just get on with it and do your job" .

So its 10.30 am in sunny Surrey, and the temperature already is 30 degrees !!

by 12 pm its 32 degrees at our finishing time it will be nearly 34 degrees, yet we were still made to go out at the exactly same time and when asked to go out early we got shot down like our health and well-being didn't matter.

But it is fine, there will be another 2 to 4 people going sick tomorrow! Lack of respect for their colleague and breaking government health and safety standards!

Sympathise with you, but WTF........lapsing on a Wednesday.......do you have time in your duties to do that?
