Risk Assessment

We have been rolling & strapping mail bags for customers the past few weeks. A colleague has complained of muscular issues due to the set height of the worktop.
.A conveyor chute (sloping - with cardboard on top) has also been put in place as a work surface!
Should a risk assessment be carried out on all new procedures?

Yes - alert the local and area safety reps.

Thanks for the confirmation response TBT. I have sent an email to my line manager today requesting written clarification re risk assessment & if I do not receive a reply I will escalate the matter. The process continued today, under the same line manager, without changes to the operating procedure.

Update;
Yesterday I escalated my concern to Sue Whalley, CEO post & parcels u.k. via email.
This morning my line manager introduced a representative, as a consequence of my email, who came to discuss & assess my concerns.

Yesterday my line manager instructed me how to roll & strap bags as I had not performed the operation before. I commented on the "new" table which has obviously been provided recently as a consequence of my concern at the H&S issue I raised back in October 2018.
