H&S Rep being denied accident investigation/Erica

it has come to my attention that under this world class mail rubbish in delivery offices, management are only going to pass up page one and three of the ERICA to the ASR.

The route cause analysis and investigation is being denied to the health and safety rep and the ASR on the pretense of a manager being sued or data protection implications.

THE LEGAL IMPLICATIONS OF THIS POLICY WOULD BE IN BREACH OF RISK ASSESSMENTS AND S.S.O.W., LET ALONE THE AGREEMENT THE CWU HAS WITH ROYAL MAIL ON ACCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS

The real reason for this rubbish is that managers will always default to a blameworthy decision to satisfy this world class mail rubbish without the risk of being sued in the civil court

Are any areas aware of this new policy being brought into delivery offices

Yes only last week I had a colleague who was issued with a stage warning for an accident on delivery,I was told that all accidents from now on they will ALWAYS look to hold the person who has had the accident blameworthy,it's a big load of bolloxs and thats before the WCM is even here.

royal mail can say what they want but they are not above the law as they have found out on numerous occasions.

I have just heard about this and tend to agree with what has already been said. If all accidents were investigated properly nine out of ten times the manager leaves themselves wide open as the ssow and risk assessment are out of date. WRAP is never updated on the walks, only on the PC in the managers office.

WCM is the biggest load of rubbish ever to come into rm. How or why our union still cant see through it defies belief.
