Re: ACAS - Promoting positive mental health at work
I have read this download and found it very useful especially as my husband's line managers did not realise he was in work for two days (he was), imagine if there had been an evacuation of the building for any reason and they didn't know that my husband was trapped!
No wonder he was suffering from stress at work and grievance procedure, which led to an acute psychotic episode and him being placed on section2 of the mental health act.

First of all True Blue Terrier, and I will also say on fab, thanks for adding me on there!
Some very good points raised in that article but with Royal Mail's management or that of the line managers and their superiors, they tend to add to the stress rather then relieve it. The policy seems to stress people out and then wonder why they go off. For two days on thursday and friday, I was off ill which I think was caused by stress created by my line manager. I won't say too much of what I think of him as I would end up saying some very choice language.
Until, RM come out of the dark ages and take on board the stress management suggested in that article, the same things will happen. Rather then pick on people, and getting on their backs, create the situation for them to feel better about themselves and they will do even better!
Is that so hard for RM to understand??
