blue steps

hi dose anybody have a SSOW on the blue steps ( two run) just had a RIDDOR and need to locate it. been told their is one but no one can find it its a national roll out , well i think it is.

I think it means someone has had an accident on a two rung step-ladder at work and does anyone have a copy of the safe way of working with it, assuming one was issued nationally -I think

Would have thought with regards to your query the CWU National Health and Safety Department would have been your best place to request a SSOW. Having said that it is a completely new one on me (never heard of it before).

Yes if their are using machinery but a 2 rung step.Anyone who needs instruction to use a 2 rung step shouldn't really be let out on their own.How hard is it,how can you possibly use it wrong? go up on your hands,hop up it on one leg? stand it on his side?

Point taken DB :Very Happy but perhaps it was being used in a situation where it should not have been or in place of more appropriate equipment.

Just imagine what the press would make of it if they got hold of a story like that "Royal Mail sued by angry worker for failing to teach them how to use a 2 rung step"

Well update ,
thanks for the views , although a lot negative response , thank you Wessex give me a clap , the steps were being used inappropriate for the job in question , and after a accident found that no risk assessments had been done on this equipment. yes i agree only had two runs , but the steps in question have casters and rubber suckers, when weight is applied the suckers should hold the steps to ground . in this case it did not. so after an investigation found no ssow. looks like these will now be taken out of service.
