Hi everyone,
I haven't been issued with any footwear yet I've already bought a cheap pair of trainers which have lasted 3 weeks hole in sole now, anyone know the best trainers/walking shoes to get, or if the Royal Mail issue is the best what make it is,
Thanks

Re: Best Footwear
Because the footwear is PPE, RM HAVE to supply you with them, just make sure they order them (get your union rep/H&S rep on the case if they don't)
And if you want to wear some shoes............try sandles

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Quote PPE and tell them they have to supply you with them (along with a hi-viz vest).

Did one of your kids write it for you?

There was an issue of Royal Mail Hush Puppie shoes and they were probably the best footwear ever issued!POSTMAN wrote:30yr + : Slippers.

Comfortable, durable and you could wear them for a night out!

Re: Best Footwear
For the amount of time, money and effort was invested in new footwear, can't believe they don't have half sizes. Some much for proper research.

Royal Mail are legally obliged to ensure that your PPE is suitable.
As far as suitability is concerned, your PPE should suit the ergonomics and state of health of the person it is provided to and be capable of fitting them correctly.

Re: Best Footwear
My preference is the Magnum boots supplied by RM. They only last about 7 months though but are light and comfortable with little or no wearing in period.
Quite why they ask me what size I am every time I order I don't know ... "and that is still a size 10 is it?".
Don't polish them (the waterproof covering comes off) and dry them out regularly.
