Warm Weather Working

Post by DGP1 »

With this year looking like it's going to be a warm one I thought it would be time to bring up some advice.

Employers must provide cold drinking water and should:
• provide cool, shaded rest areas for outdoor workers and indoor workers,
• timetable more frequent breaks when people can rest in a cool area,
• provide hats that shade the face, ears and neck for out door workers,
• provide the correct sunglasses to prevent glare out doors, and
• provide high factor sunscreen (at least 15 SPF).

That's good advice. But I can't see RM bothering to make those kind of arrangements. They'll probably find some loophole, so they can ignore it.

I'll be asking for suncream this year (a non-greasy spray) and if they don't supply it I'll be noting it down, just in case I need the information later.
