Has anyone had any success with the dazer gadgets? supposed to frighten the dogs away, but not one postie in our office had any luck with it at all, in fact it seemed to make the dog want to attack us more. I think we should use cap guns, the noise will frighten the s**t out of the dog , but it wont hurt it

Well I was not thinking of running around the streets with a cap gun. My idea was to frighten the dog if he tried to attack me, as dogs are usually afraid of loud bangs. such as fireworks, and gun fire .unless you clever people have a better idea !

Not the ones by Royal Mail but I do have one of my own and its very good. I have not yet used it in anger on the job, but I did inadvertently set it off once and both my cats shot off through the window and did not come back for 1/2 hour at least. My neighbour also mentioned a few days later that she was worried about her dog as it was lying in the front room and all of sudden shot up and looked frighted. Oops  but at least it works.ImageImageImage

Are we talking bout dogs loose in gardens or dogs loose in streets/ If the former why go in? I would not del to a house with dog loose if it looked angry (H & S issue) and if its on the street just whisper in its earhole "Crozier has just adopted you" and it will soon Phuq off in fear! :dance

Plan B; Throw it at the dog - or jam it in its gob like you do with crocodiles in cartoons.

Tried and tested on my delivery round they work on some and not on others therefore I consider it about as much use as a chocolate fireguard :wave

I found that out the hard way, trying to deliver to a schoolhouse. I was confronted by about 4 dogs, I pressed the dazer......3 stopped in their tracks but 1 kept coming! I managed to get away and later found out from the caretaker, that one of them was deaf!!!!! A warning sign would have been a godsend!!!!
I can only please one person per day.
