It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Royal Mail's intranet has a new H&S page which is useful when quoting indiscretions to management.

I fell in the first month of my post man job and injured my back during my job owing to which I was unable to start my job and after 3 months of contract I was terminated. I fell because I was not provided with safety boots as all my colleagues know these are not provided untill one in the job passed. Is there anyone to advise what I should do to reinstate my job or at least get all contract wage or any other way to get justice?
Thanks

You could register it as an indsutrial accident wih the DSS. You could also get advice from the CAB. There is also the option of an employment tribunal but you may have passed the 3 month limit. Another avenue is to contact HSE and see what they say.

Have a look at the above.
Thanks Daz, that's a great link. There seems to be a lot of posts about DDA/EA maybe there should be a sticky with this link.

You can't really get proof that you are covered by the DDA (or Equality Act), the only way you could do this is if you have been to a tribunal and they have agreed that it should be considered. We are all covered by the Equality Act it's just a question if it needs to come into play or not.

The definition of a disability is pretty loose but ATOS or your GP will have a very good idea if this is the case, this isn't the same as qualifying for Disability Living Allowance benefits. If your manager chooses to ignore their advice then that would look very bad in a tribunal.
