A POSTIE revealed the horror injuries inflicted by a crazed dog that reduced his leg to “bone and gristle” in a frenzied attack.
Andy Barton, 35, told how the Staffie shot out of a flat and clamped its powerful jaws round his left calf as he delivered a parcel.

The hound mauled him for over a minute as he frantically tried to fight it off — shredding his limb and chewing a 5in deep gash.
He spent four days in hospital, where he had plastic surgery, and is on medication for panic attacks 18 months after his ordeal at a tenement in Milton, Glasgow.
Recalling the attack, the mail worker — who was last month awarded £3,000 compo — said: “The dog came flying out, it was so powerful. My adrenaline kicked in and it was just fight or flight.
“I was trying to back away and boot it in the face. I stayed on my feet and never turned my back.”
Andy took a look at his savaged leg after he fled outside — while fading in and out of consciousness.
He said: “I almost threw up. It was just bone and gristle, like something out of a horror movie.
"It was lucky I managed to get out of there, my adrenaline kicked in - it was just fight or flight.
“I managed to stay on my feet and never turned my back on the dog.”
Andy waited 50 minutes for an ambulance until passing workmates took him to hospital.
He was off his round for seven months, adding: “Mentally, it was torture.
"It just hit me like a ton of bricks and I’ve never been the same again."
Last month Stephanie Colquhoun, 28, admitted being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog in February 2020.
She was ordered at Glasgow Sheriff Court to pay Andy damages and do 270 hours’ unpaid work.
Bull terrier Bruno — her boyfriend’s dog — was put down.
Andy said: “It’s really sad, but he was ferocious and small toddlers lived near by - they wouldn’t have stood a chance.
“She’s never been in touch to see how I’m doing or even called through my work.
“I’m grateful she pleaded guilty at least, it was hanging over me for more than a year.
“People need to take our safety more seriously - the attack has changed my life forever.
"I used to be a happy go lucky guy but now I’m on medication for the regular panic attacks I suffer. The slightest thing can be a trigger.
“I still get nervous going to a door - but I just have to get on with it best I can.”

£3,000 is nothing compared to his onjuries, try £30,000.
