There is no real issue with hi-viz vests and excessive heat during the summer months. I have a medical disorder called hyperhidrosis and there is no marked increase in excessive sweat whilst wearing these light, translucent, sleeveless, loose fitting and drop necked items.

Perhaps because I had to wear body Armour, a Kevlar helmet, carry a weapon and 2 full magazines, Not to mention carrying webbing and occasionally a full Bergen, in the tropics when temperatures on average could be bewteen 30 and 35C and humidity always over 95% I really don't have a problem wearing a high viz in any weather. I suppose it all depends on your outlook, and frame of reference.
