seriously this topic annoys me every year ( well every 3rd year in the uk lol)

what would you do if you were on holiday and the sun was hot???

well do this while at work

I know we blame RM for most things but we can't blame them for people being stupid in the heat

drink water, apply sunscreen and make sure you prepare for what you know will happen during your time exposed to the sun

if you were sat in your garden would you wait for RM to tell you what to do?

Yeah i do blame Royal mail as it was them that changed are working times to have us out at the warmest part of the day not the employee.
so its only right that they should look after our safety!

ive recently come back of my hols in 35 degrees heat whilst on holiday I RELAXED for eg went to a waterpark,beach etc drank and eat lots as I was all inclusive,since ive been back delivering mail for 5 + HOURS EVERY DAY,ive felt exhausted,do you understand the difference between the two.

we used to get out early in the morning and be finishing as it was getting hotter now because we get out a lot later it is already hot. how many bottles of drink do we have to carry to keep hydrated and not need a pee. we are always being told about slips and trips in the wet but not a mention about sun screen, but then this is caring, sharing Royal mail

Even on a cloudy/overcast day you'd be likely to be exposed to around forty percent of the suns ultraviolet rays. If you are an outdoor worker with exposed skin, you should be protecting your skin from UV damage every day. Please bear in mind that as well as the UVB rays we associate with colouring of the skin the UVA rays are still penetrating your skin with a less immediate effect. Many after shave lotions and moisturisers actually contain SPF 15 or greater so you may actually be protecting yourself without realising it!

In our office at least....there would be no shortage of blokes willing to rub sun cream on other posties exposed bits.
