Yes my right one has gone first due to the weight of the bag, over on left shoulder, weight of mail on right hip. Sadly, the left one has started to go now too, but at least I'm out of the job that done so much damage

Hope you get some relief a steroid injection should tied you over perhaps for a few months
if your lucky!
but the demands of the job will mean you will prob need another at some point.
docs usually give a maximum of 3 injections(because side effects etc and reduced benefit )
they then insist you have an op.

my insights are not from medical school! but from mine and workmates experience
between us have had tennis elbow, prepatella bursitis ie fluid on knee ( similar to yours)
carpal tunnel etc.

wELL ...things have turned a little ugly for me at present, the aches and pain never let up, even with the Cortisone injection, doc tried twice to drain fluid but couldn't..... then I have been hit with PMR ( Polymyalgia Rheumatica), and been off for 5 weeks now, had 3 referrals to Atos and now under a Rhuematology Consultant at the hospital, can only function on steriods as the pain is unreal without....and then I get fatigued after a short walk or excersise. Not sure when things will turn around, got another hosp appt in Aug!!

Would certainly be interesting to know how many posties have been IHR due to knee problems. Mine was actually a genetic thing I didn't know about, the angle of my femur of all things putting pressure on the knee cap, would have gone eventually but the job just made it go faster :(

That sounds like the same condition I have just had surgery for 12 weeks ago. Kneecap wearing away on femur, tight lateral tissues tilting my kneecap and increased Q-angle. I have had a lateral release, and will be having tibia transfer surgery in future to line every back up. Unfortunatley 15 years on the job as worn away much of the cartilage and bone causing ireversible damage.
