LTB 091/26 – Low / Ground-level Letterboxes Campaign Update – New Scottish Building Regulations

Post by POSTMAN »

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

LTB wrote:The purpose of this LTB is to report a positive development in the CWU campaign to make the industry standard, minimum letterbox heights mandatory under the law for all new builds and new front doors.
[...]
Therefore, if any new letterbox is not fitted in accordance with this standard after 6th April, we encourage CWU Representatives and Branches in Scotland to cite health and safety endangerment on any challenge to homeowners or home builders who are not compliant with the above.
I just had two customers this week install new doors with letterboxes clearly below the height spec (and they're always Prussian blue faux wood). Presumably they will continue to be sold while stocks last.
