A friend asked me yesterday, who has taken vr and would like to invest some of it into his RM pension, which he plans to take in around 5 years (nra 60) and ten years time (nra 65). He spoke about "cautious funds" and more "risky" funds.
I couldn't really say much as it is some thing I have never done, aside from I would be "cautious".
I did say he could take advice, but said have a look at management fees, if they apply?
Not much I could really say.
Does any one have any views on the best ways to reinvest VR into our pension schemes.
This colleague has to do this before his final pay day at the end of the month.

Re: reinvesting VR into RM pension?
I assume he's in section A, B or C of the RMPP?
If so, he can put some of his VR package into an AVC called Flexiplan. It's not possible to put anything extra into the pension itself or the DBCBS.
AVC's can only be paid via wages, so he'll have to contact payroll and pensions to arrange for the payment to be made when he gets his last weekly/monthly wage.
More info on AVC's is on the RMPP website and the investment options are here: https://digital.feprecisionplus.com/cor ... ory=2rmp62
If he's in the RMDCP then the same procedure applies, but the investment choices will be the same as he already has.

Re: reinvesting VR into RM pension?
If he has "taken" VR as in left then he is too late to add to his pension in my view. I had to do it prior to leaving when I had my VR quote.stephen500 wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021, 14:25He is in section B.RobertT wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021, 14:16I assume he's in section A, B or C of the RMPP?

Re: reinvesting VR into RM pension?
Yes, he has not had his final pay yet, that is at the end of March. He has taken VR, but is on leave.RobertT wrote: ↑13 Mar 2021, 18:57I refer you to the last sentence of the first post in this thread:freespeech wrote: ↑13 Mar 2021, 17:08If he has "taken" VR as in left then he is too late to add to his pension in my view.
